Step-by-step guides for using ChatNae.

Getting started

  1. Download ChatNae from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Tap Get Started and register with your phone number, or tap Continue anonymously to join with just a nickname.
  3. Choose Boy or Girl. Some groups are for boys or girls only.

Messaging a star

  1. Open the Chats tab and tap a star under Chat with celebrities.
  2. Buy a bundle if you don't have messages yet (Bundles tab).
  3. Write your message. Each message uses 1 from your bundle.

Groups

  1. Open the Groups tab, or tap a pinned group on the Chats screen.
  2. You get 2 free group messages every 24 hours; after that, posts use your bundle.
  3. Mute a noisy group from the group's menu (⋮ → Mute notifications).

Community

  1. Open the Community tab and tap Share.
  2. Write what you're going through, pick a topic, and choose whether to post anonymously.
  3. Read others' posts and share your view in the comments. It's free.

Buying messages

  1. Go to Bundles, choose a bundle and enter your mobile money number.
  2. Confirm the payment prompt on your phone.
  3. Your messages are added as soon as the payment completes.

Keeping an anonymous account

  1. Anonymous accounts live on one phone.
  2. Go to Settings → Secure your account and add a phone number and password.
  3. You can then log in on any phone and keep your bundles and groups.
